My Projects

My essence lies in the art of storytelling.

Growing up, I was captivated by the tales of my family's experiences in Greece and their journey as Greek Australians in Queensland. It was only natural for me to pursue a career where I could express these stories through the power of song, fueling my profound love for my culture and our community. Through my projects, such as A Musical Odyssey, Girl from Greece, and the Brisbane Greek Community Choir Ellinikes Fones, I weave narratives and melodies that resonate with the hearts of both individuals and communities, celebrating the beauty and heritage of our Greek culture.

A Musical Odyssey

A Musical Odyssey showcases the voice of classically trained Australian-Greek mezzo-soprano Katerini Manolatos, classical guitarist Paul Chantrill and bouzouki player Costa Vasili. They are passionate about sharing music that contributes to the multicultural landscape of Australia. “We combine two beautiful pure elements of voice and guitar, then bring in traditional instruments such as the bouzouki to bring authenticity, nostalgia and colour.” Katerini says.

Founded in 2011 they have enjoyed performing in Cairns, Brisbane and Greece and are excited to tour Australia through June in their tour “Songs from Greece”.

Katerini and Paul recently returned from their tour of the Ionian Islands where they were received by the people of Ithaki and Kefalonia with much love and praise. Here they launched their first CD ‘A Musical Odyssey: Songs from Greece’.

Girl from Greece is the production company of myself and my dear friend Mel Lathouras - celebrating family, Greek Culture, and the power of music. You can book us to play Greek Jazz and Folk or to present on our project Nana Mouskouri & Me: Stories of Belonging.

“Thank you so much for a beautiful night - Katerini and her musicians were just so soul catching.”
